TDS Liberia uses communication to help communities understand public issues, express their priorities and participate in decisions affecting their lives. Each intervention begins by identifying the audience, local context, information gaps and barriers to participation.
Radio programmes, serial dramas, documentaries and public-service messages translate technical subjects into accessible local-language content. Productions address peacebuilding, democratic governance, human rights, education, gender equality, land management, climate change, public health and other issues affecting Liberian communities.
Communication extends beyond broadcasting. TDS Liberia organizes participatory theatre, community dialogues, town-hall meetings and county forums where residents can question information, discuss disagreements and propose responses. Women, young people, persons with disabilities and other groups facing barriers to public participation receive deliberate opportunities to contribute.
Community feedback informs both programme delivery and public accountability. Call-in programmes, listening groups, interviews and structured feedback sessions allow TDS Liberia and its partners to identify concerns, correct misinformation, adjust activities and track how audiences respond.
Through this approach, communication becomes a two-way process: institutions provide information, communities examine it, and decision-makers receive evidence about public priorities. TDS Liberia works with local authorities, civil-society organizations, community radio stations and development partners to connect that process with practical action.
