TDS Liberia supports citizens to understand governance processes, participate in public decision-making and hold institutions accountable. Programs focus on the practical relationship between communities, elected officials, public agencies and local authorities.

Radio programmes, community forums, participatory theatre and public-information campaigns explain laws, policies, elections and government responsibilities in accessible language. This work helps citizens understand how decisions are made, which institutions are responsible and how concerns can be raised through lawful channels.

Community engagement creates opportunities for residents to identify priorities, question public officials and contribute to local planning. TDS Liberia works to include women, young people, persons with disabilities and residents of communities that receive limited access to public information.

Public accountability activities help communities monitor commitments and communicate evidence about service delivery. Call-in programmes, citizen interviews, facilitated dialogues and feedback mechanisms allow residents to report concerns, request clarification and follow institutional responses.

TDS Liberia also works with community radio stations, civil-society organizations, local authorities and national institutions to strengthen communication between citizens and decision-makers. The aim is to make governance information easier to access, public participation more representative and government responses more visible.

This approach treats democracy as more than elections. It supports informed participation, peaceful disagreement, transparent decision-making and continued citizen involvement between electoral periods.
